**Sydney FC came to Eschol Park**

The Committee, players and supporters of Eschol Park Soccer Club would like to thank Sydney FC for their support in grass roots football. The players were more than accommodating by signing autographs, talking to players and supporters and having photos taken with absolutely everyone who asked. Nothing was a problem for them to do for us.
For this, a heartfelt thanks.

Stay tuned for the photos from the day in the upcoming “gallery” section.

Sydney FC players will attend junior registration days at eight junior football clubs across Sydney this weekend as part of the club’s Community Program.

It is expected that the total number of registered junior players (male and female) in Sydney will break through the 120,000 barrier in 2008 as football continues to grow at all levels.

With no Hyundai A-League matches this weekend due to Australia’s World Cup qualifier against Qatar the Sydney FC players will be out and about as the hordes of kids register at some of the biggest junior clubs in Sydney.

Sydney FC players will be attending junior registration days in Sydney’s north, south, east and west at Lindfield, North Rocks, Seaforth, Colo, Bondi, Menai, Eagle Vale and Revesby.

Players will be signing autographs at the eight clubs and will help those clubs with fundraising initiatives as thousands of junior players sign up for the 2008 season. The eight clubs will also be presented with a signed Sydney FC ball and a Sydney FC poster.

Sydney FC Captain Tony Popovic said the registration day visits are the start of a winter blitz, which will see Sydney FC players attend schools and junior clubs throughout the winter season where the juniors are playing and the A-League is in recess.

“It’s important that we as players take the time and make the effort to help promote the game at the grassroots level and try to put something back into the game,” Popovic said. “These visits are a good way to inspire the youngsters and also help grow the game and Sydney FC at the junior level.”
