IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING REGISTRATIONS FOR EPSC FOR 2012

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AS THERE ARE CHANGES TO PROCEDURES FOR REGOS

The Eschol Park Soccer Club Committee of 2012 would like to extend an invitation to you and your family to become members of our soccer family again in 2012. Club members include players, coaches, and managers or simply by paying $2 you can become an associated member. All members over 18 are entitled to vote at club meetings held the second Monday each month.

Registration dates are listed below. Please note that if you can not make these dates to register, you are now able to register online at www.myfootballclub.com.au until midnight 5/2/2012. If you plan to register online please contact me by email registrar@epsc.com.au with your name and Date of Birth, and I will send you your FFA Number and password, and an outline on how to register online, which will assist you with the process. An advantage of online registrations is that you are able to pay with a credit card BUT there is a 2% surcharge on credit card transactions. Credit card payment is only offered if you register online. If you are registering online and don’t intend to pay with credit card, this is fine, but will mean that you will need to come and pay your registration fees on one of our registration days.

Note: You will not be registered and your Application will not be accepted until you have paid in full

If you miss the rego days then your name will be put onto a waiting list and you will only be registered if there is a spot in a team for you. This is to avoid the problems with having too many players in one team. A late rego fee of $5 will be charged to returning players, if you don’t register before registrations close on the 5th February 2012.

For those who are going to register in the normal way, I have attached a registration form to fill in and bring with you on registration days. It is a new form and will be the only form required to be filled in.

A full range of equipment will be available for purchase on the day.

Thank you to all our coaches and managers from 2011 for a job well done. Without them we would have no teams to play soccer each weekend. Some of these people will return in 2012 but some will not, which means that we will need more people to put their hand up to help. Start thinking now. Can you find the time to help?

The club will be holding meet and greet nights for the coaches and managers. The old and the new are asked to attend. Each manager and coach will be given a manual to help them with their job. Those who attend the meet and greet nights will be given a gift to help them with their coaching/managing as well.

In 2007 the committee introduced a new by-law to the rules of the club stating that any player who receives 3 yellow cards for the same offence will be asked to appear before the disciplinary committee to explain why. The player may be suspended for a maximum of 3 matches. This is a separate action to that taken by MDSFA Judiciary. This is to try to control misconduct on the field. This will continue to be enforced in 2012 as it has been quite successful.

For families registering more than one Mini and/or Junior, a $5.00 discount for the second and subsequent Mini or Junior will apply.Please advise the Registrar when registering.

Payments can only be accepted in Cash or Cheque. Cheques are to be made payable to: Eschol Park Soccer Club Inc.
Credit Card payments can be made only if registering ONLINE by 5th February 2012.

The Registration fee covers, Registration with the FFA, FNSW, MDSFA and Insurance.

All New Players that wish to register will need to produce an acceptable form of ID. These are a Birth Certificate, Passport, Drivers’ Licence or a letter on school letterhead stating the player’s name and Date of Birth.

Lastly, don’t leave it till the last Registration day, historically this is when the most people attend and there can be long delays. Get in early and avoid the crowds.

MDSFA - COACHES NEWSLETTER JANUARY 2012.

Hello and welcome to the new 2012 soccer season. I hope that you are all rested and ready to start the season in a positive and enthusiastic manner.

The February/March coaching courses being conducted at Lynwood Park are now open for bookings. This is your opportunity to obtain a coaching qualification before the actual competition commences on 24th March.

Course bookings are essential so that numbers can be monitored to conform with F.F.A. and F.N.S.W. requirements.

Dates have hopefully allocated so as not to interfere with any trial games that you or your club have organised. With the summer weather, daylight saving time and the season about to start, this is perhaps the best time to attend a coaching course and prepare yourself with more coaching knowledge. During the season some courses will be conducted, but, I realise that during the season coaches are committed to their teams and may not have the time available to attend courses.

Under 15 Boys: Impressive North Sydney United defeat Eschol Park

A dominant display of football saw North Sydney United grab three second-half goals to defeat a stubborn Eschol Park in the 15s Boys Champions of Champions final on Sunday morning.

North Sydney United looked the more dangerous of the sides and controlled the park throughout the match while Eschol Park looked to get forward on the counterattack in an entertaining match at Valentine Sports Park.

Brad Mowlam was in exceptional form between the sticks for Eschol Park and was well positioned to make early saves to deny Edward Wills and Jack Osborn.
Connor Caswell was also called into action early, racing off his line to pluck the ball from Bryce Saffrett’s feet.

Despite their dominance North Sydney were kept at bay throughout the first half due to a Mowlam’s saves combined with fine defence from Patrick Garcia and Sam Maksoud.

Panos Armenakas went within inches of breaking the deadlock in the first half as his 25-yard drive struck the crossbar and bounced clear before the sides went into the break scoreless.

Eschol Park went close to grabbing the lead soon after the restart as Saffrett low shot beat the keeper but also beat the post as it trickled wide of goal.
Wills should have grabbed the lead for North Sydney as he found space in the box, however his first time shot sailed harmlessly over the crossbar as frustration appeared to be setting in for the dominant side.

Wills made up for his miss soon after as he opened the scoring on 55’ minutes with a powerful shot that found its way into the back of the net via the underside of the crossbar.

North Sydney doubled their advantage minutes later when Armenakas slotted home a spot kick following Josh Lovett’s unfortunate foul in the box.

Christian Calderan headed just over for North Sydney soon after before Wills completed his brace and rounded off the scoring with a low drive from the edge of the box that found its way inside the bottom corner.
